biochar
What is BioChar?
Biochar is a type of charcoal created by burning biomass in an oxygen-limited environment. It is then placed into soil, where it acts as a sponge for carbon dioxide, helping to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. Activated-biochar takes this process one step further, by adding additional agents that increase its carbon capture capability.
The Benefits of Biochar
- Reduce Green House Gas Emissions
- Reverse Effects of Climate Change
- Increase Carbon Capture
Biochar and activated-biochar show promise in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions,
and has the potential to revolutionize efforts to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. With more than 1000 applications, they offer a wide range of possibilities to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reverse the effects of climate change.
An Eco-Friendly Solution: The Creation of Biochar
The potential benefits extend beyond reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Biochar also helps rehabilitate degraded land, restoring vital nutrients and improving soil fertility through improved water retention capacity.
CARBONATOR™
The 6050 carbonator is an advanced, cost-effective, environmentally friendly wood debris conversion system. Wood debris volume is reduced while sequestering carbon for carbon credits and beneficial reuse.
We ensure less desirable wood is never wasted by sending it to our carbonizer, the Tigercat 6050 Carbonator, which uses a high velocity of air to over oxygenate the fire and decrease smoke particles. This powerful process significantly reduces air emissions in comparison to traditional incinerators and creates temperatures exceeding 1800F, resulting in extremely fine, and mineral-rich charcoal. The charcoal is then made into compost and added back to the soil which helps to retain moisture in the forest floor, and rangelands. This process contributes to sustainable forestry practices.
The Carbonator is transportable to your project.
